Tote bags are flat, useful and make great gifts, so they are a good step after your first shirt.

Choose the right method

  • Cotton or canvas totes: use heat transfer vinyl or ready made DTF transfers. Sublimation does not bond to plain cotton.
  • Polyester or poly coated totes: sublimation works on light coloured ones.

Steps for HTV totes

  1. Pre press the tote to flatten seams and remove moisture.
  2. Put a piece of cardboard or a pressing pillow inside if seams or handles get in the way.
  3. Place the mirrored, weeded design.
  4. Cover with a protective sheet and press per the vinyl instructions.

Design ideas

  • Market and grocery bags with simple text
  • Library or book bags
  • Teacher end of year gifts
  • Team or club totes
  • Matching sets for events

TREVOR: add a finished tote photo and the settings you used.
