Most craft guides assume US stores and prices. If you craft in Canada, a few extra checks can save money and waiting time.
Machines
- Buy from a Canadian storefront or retailer when you can, so the warranty, power plug and support match your country.
- Check that the design software account and any subscription are offered in your region and currency.
Vinyl, blanks and sublimation supplies
- Many popular US craft brands sell through Canadian retailers and marketplaces. Compare the total landed price, not just the item price.
- Ordering from US sites can add exchange rate costs, cross border shipping, and sometimes duties or brokerage fees charged at delivery. Read the checkout and shipping pages carefully.
- Heavy items like heat presses and tumbler blanks cost more to ship, so local stock is often worth a small price difference.
Settings and temperatures
Press temperatures in many guides are in Fahrenheit. Supplier instructions often list both. Convert carefully and do a test press on a scrap.
Seasonal timing
Holiday shipping from the US to Canada can take longer. Order supplies for gift projects early.
TREVOR: add the Canadian stores you actually buy supplies from, if you want to share them.
