Cardstock is cheap, forgiving and great for learning your machine.

Easy first projects

  1. Greeting cards with a cut out front design
  2. Gift tags for holidays
  3. Cake toppers with names or numbers
  4. Paper flowers for decor
  5. Party banners with letters
  6. Bookmarks with simple cut out patterns

Tips for clean cuts

  • Use a mat with the right stickiness for cardstock, and keep it clean.
  • Choose the material setting that matches your cardstock weight.
  • Use a sharp blade. A dull blade tears paper.
  • Remove the mat from the paper, not the paper from the mat. Flip the mat over and peel the mat back to avoid curling.

Glue and assembly

A fine tip craft glue or double sided tape works for most cardstock layers. Let layered pieces dry flat under a book.

TREVOR: add photos of a finished card or banner, and link any matching Odd Lantern design.
